There are less than six weeks to that massive Tyson Fury vs Oleksandr Usyk showdown now – and the buildup really started to FIRE on Wednesday.
Earlier this week we got the news that ‘The Gypsy King’ was due to meet the media in his home town of Morecambe as he begins the final preparations for his bid to become undisputed heavyweight champion of the world.
The press conference went down on Wednesday lunchtime at the Mazuma Mobile Stadium – home of Morecambe Football Club. – Fury’s local team.

Fury was joined by promoter Frank Warren, manager Spencer Brown and trainer ‘Sugar Hill’ Steward for the press conference, as the excitement starts to properly build towards May 18 in Riyadh.
Whoever wins that enormous blockbuster will be crowned boxing’s first undisputed heavyweight champion since another Briton Lennox Lewis defeated Evander Holyfield in Las Vegas way back in 1999.
The fight of course was supposed to have taken place on February 17, but then Fury sustained that cut to his eye just over two weeks out as he sparred Croatian heavyweight Agron Smakici.
This week we’ve already seen Usyk wowing fans with his impressive new frame in training, definitely more bulk there than for previous fights. That will likely be needed as Fury will likely outweigh him by at least three stones on fight night.
