Jared Anderson vs Rovcanin results, scorecards & analysis

Jared ‘Big Baby’ Anderson once again advertised his massive heavyweight potential with an easy stoppage victory over Miljan Rovcanin in Tulsa, Oklahoma on Saturday night.

Top Rank supremo Bob Arum has spoken often about how he believes the 22-year-old Anderson is the future of the heavyweight division, and the young man from Ohio did not disappoint on Saturday night in front of the ESPN cameras

Body shots set up Anderson win

Jared, who missed out on an appearance on the big Fury vs Whyte undercard at Wembley in April due to a training injury, looked sharp right from the first bell and gradually started to load up on Rovcanin (now 24-3).

Anderson was busy in Round 1, in particular with body shots and left hooks, though Rovcanin did at least try to return fire with some desperate flurries.

The end came late in Round 2 as Jared produced a beautiful body shot to set up the final assault of the fight. He followed up with a vicious left hook and then closed the show with a chopping right to the head which sent Rovcanin to the canvas.

Anderson vs Hrgovic anybody?

Anderson rises to 12-0 with the win – all 12 of those successes coming inside distance. He said afterwards that he had felt more relaxed than ever despite a nine-month absence since December 2021. He added that he would love a showdown with unbeaten Filip Hrgovic, who is now the mandatory contender for the IBF heavyweight title held by Oleksandr Usyk.

Just how far away ‘Big Baby’ is from a clash with Hrgovic is not exactly clear, but what is certain is that big things appear to be on the cards for a heavyweight who once again showed he has dynamite in his fists and massive massive potential.

We expect to see him out again very soon, and we will be eagerly monitoring his progression towards elite levels.
