Daniel Dubois and Joe Joyce produced fireworks in the verbal fight before their physical fight as they faced off in an explosive must-watch video to promote next Saturday’s heavyweight bout.
The 23-year-old Dubois (15-0) and the 35-year-old Joyce (11-0) meet at London’s historic Church House on November 28. The bout will be a treat for UK fight fans as it airs live on BT Sport 1 HD.
Dubois vs Joyce: Face-off produces fireworks
But ahead of that date they met face to face for a pre-fight verbal confrontation, produced by BT Sport. Dubois had promoter Frank Warren on his side of the table, while Joyce sat alongside manager Sam Jones.
The results, as expected, were fascinating and explosive at times as the trash talk got real in the final countdown to fight night on November 28.
Dubois is seen by many experts as the future of the heavyweight division, and a potential successor to the likes of Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua. He is already ranked #2 by the WBO, behind only Oleksandr Usyk.
‘Dynamite’ has been incredibly impressive in those 15 victories (14 inside distance), but Joyce has experience on his side after a stellar amateur career. He also boasts a granite chin and relentless style. It is an intriguing clash of styles.
Joyce ‘insulted’ by betting odds
The betting odds for Dubois vs Joyce are somewhat surprising – particularly to Joe, who says he feels “insulted” by the market. He is generally a 3/1 underdog with Dubois a 1/4 favourite.
The bout had been expected to be a pay-per-view given the lack of a live gate due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. So there was much surprise and excitement when the news was revealed that it will be at no extra cost to BT Sport subscribers.
Dubois vs Joyce is just one of the intriguing heavyweight bouts to take place before the end of this COVID-ravaged year. Joshua is next up on December 12 as he defends his IBF, WBA and WBO world titles against Kubrat Pulev.
