Jake Paul had better hope fiction does not align with reality if and when he does step in a boxing ring with Anthony Joshua.
‘The Problem Child’ has been heavily linked with a showdown vs two-time world heavyweight champion Joshua in recent days, with the AJ camp keen to get a money-spinning blockbuster down on paper.
Jake meanwhile has other things on his mind right now, notably getting engaged to speed staking star girlfriend Jutta Leerdam last weekend and releasing his new reality series ‘Paul American’ on Max later this week.
The chatter about Joshua vs Paul is getting louder by the day, but we’ve already had a sneak peek at what might happen if they do ever sign to fight each other.
Watch Joshua vs Jake Paul
A ‘Fight Night Champion’ simulation is already out there, predicting exactly how things would go down if the UK superstar meets the Youtuber turned fighter. And it’s not good for 28-year-old Jake.
Paul suffers a brutal demolition job at the hands of former Olympic king Joshua, who is on top right from the start and landing crunching punches at will. Jake fires back and the action is entertaining, but it’s largely one-way traffic.
AJ uses his massive size advantage – height, weight and reach – to good effect as he sits down on his punches to really hurt Jake. Hall of Fame trainer turned analyst Teddy Atlas scores each of the first three rounds 10-8 in Joshua’s favour. Jake is down heavily in the third from a massive right hook to the jaw.
The coup de grace comes in Round 4, and it’s highlight-reel stuff as Joshua lands a brutal hook to Paul’s liver, leaving ‘The Problem Child’ crumpled in agony on the ring canvas. He cannot beat the count and it’s all over – Anthony Joshua wins by KO.
