The Fury vs Joshua narrative is again on the agenda, and we have visual proof that a fight is once more in the offing. For real.
We’ve been here before of course – most notably in the summer of 2021, when a deal and a date was agreed for the two British behemoths to meet in Saudi Arabia for the undisputed world heavyweight title.
But then of course Deontay Wilder popped up to win an arbitration ruling to force a trilogy fight vs Fury, and then Joshua lost his world heavyweight titles to Oleksandr Usyk a month later. The dream was in tatters.

Since then we’ve been close again, with talks falling apart about a late fight in 2022, and then Fury losing his unification battle to Usyk in May. Oh so close on so many occasions.
But there is a new reason to believe that the fight WILL happen, and soon – namely Saudi Arabia’s General Entertainment Authority Chairman Turki Alalshikh. He’s spent the last 12 months bankrolling fights which until now had seemed like the stuff of fairytales.
The biggest carrot of course is Fury vs Joshua – a fight that would sell out a stadium like Wembley five times over. And generate ridiculous revenues.

Alalshikh has steadfastly said he’d like a Fury vs Joshua fight to happen in early 2025 – irrespective of what happens when the two fighters next take to the ring. Joshua challenges Daniel Dubois on Saturday night for the IBF heavyweight title, and Fury rematches Usyk on December 21 in Riyadh.
The results of those two fights will determine just how much that all-British blockbuster is worth. If both win, a 2025 fight will be for all of the heavyweight titles, and both men will likely pocket north of £100m each. If one or either loses, at least some financial gloss is taken off proceedings.
Fury vs Joshua talks revealed
On Friday we got visual proof that things are for real, with Turki Alalshikh holding Facetime talks with Fury while in a room with Joshua.
You can watch the clip below – shared by ace TalkSPORT reporter Michael Benson – but basically it’s Joshua and Turki telling Fury that they are waiting for him, and ready to make the fight.

Fury asks Turki when it is going to happen and the answer is again consistent with previous rhetoric – first or second quarter of 2025.
So there you have it, actual visual evidence that talks are happening, and earlier this week we had Eddie Hearn just confirming what we already know – this bout HAS TO HAPPEN in 2025. There can be no more waiting around. Everybody seems desperate to make it happen – get the popcorn…
