Eddie Hearn plans Conor Benn BLOCKBUSTER as he makes MASSIVE offer to AMerican MEGASTAR

Eddie Hearn is not messing around as he looks to get stable star Conor Benn into a MASSIVE fight – his next opponent could be American superstar Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis.

Welterweight star Benn (23-0 with 14 wins inside distance) successfully came through his Las Vegas show-topper last Saturday night when he outpointed Peter Dobson, but he failed to ‘slice through’ his opponent as Hearn had predicted.

The Matchroom Boxing supremo was satisfied by his man’s performance though, and is now looking to much bigger and better things. And immediately. He confirmed on Wednesday that talks are ongoing with Stateside sensation Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis – and that the Baltimore banger (29-0 with 27 KOs) would be receiving an offer within hours.

Hearn on Gervonta vs Benn

“Lots of talks with Gervonta Davis. Firstly those two going back and forth,” revealed Hearn.

“I’ve spoken to Gervonta personally and he’ll be receiving an offer from us today for that fight. I think it’s a huge fight – could happen in the UK but I think we’re looking at America for that.

“You’ve got two fiery characters – Gervonta is an outstanding fighter, super-featherweight really, coming up to lightweight and boxing at 140, but never boxed at 147.

“It’s a really tough fight for Conor Benn. Gervonta is a pound-for-pound great, but I like the size advantage in that fight. It’s the first time as I’ve said in a couple of fights that he’ll be fighting somebody smaller than him. But he can really crack and he’s an outstanding fighter so it’s a big ask for Conor but this is what he wants – he wants these kind of tests.

“I think Gervonta Davis against Conor Benn is a fight that can really light up America and the UK. So he will be getting our offer today – I’m sure he’ll probably publicise that offer as he does on Instagram. But we wanna try and make the fight, Conor is bang up for that fight. He’s bang up for Errol Spence, honestly Conor Benn will fight anyone.

“It’s our job to make sure the reward is there, a fight like that against an American superstar would be a massive moment for him. Literally the whole world is calling out Conor Benn right now, it’s not going to be difficult to land him that big fight now.”

Gervonta vs Benn – when, and where?

Hearn also spoke about a potential landing spot on the 2024 calendar for what would be a real blockbuster on both sides of the Atlantic – and the likely location.

“It’s opened up Stateside, previously we talked about big fights in the UK. With all those names that are calling him out, I think there’s a very good chance his next fight is in America.”

“April time, it has to sit within the schedule of course. April, May, something like that. I think Gervonta’s been looking for a date for a while now, Conor Benn – fresh, ready to go after those 12 rounds. Let’s make it happen.”
