It’s been a pretty nice few days for boxing fans after the news of a cut-price PPV for that massive ‘Day of Reckoning’ show, and now there’s another result to savour.
Not only can fans buy the massive bill topped by Anthony Joshua and Deontay Wilder for a knock-down fee, they now have a choice of platforms in the UK. This with the news that the show will be aired on TNT Sports Box Office (formerly BT Sport) as well as DAZN PPV.
Late last week boxing lovers got great news with the Saudi organisers persuading the broadcasters to keep their prices low for what is a spectacular card – at just £19.99 in the UK and $39.99 in the United States and Canada.
DAZN will have global rights, and now it is joined in the UK by TNT Sports Box Office, which will also come to the party. Broadcasters are calling it a historic first with two rights holders bringing fans in the UK and Ireland the action from Riyadh.
Who is fighting on ‘Day of Reckoning’ bill?
The show of course is topped by a string of heavyweight stars in massive matchups. And the biggest stars of all are Joshua and Wilder, who are both in action ahead of a potential blockbusting showdown in 2024.
AJ will meet dangerous Swede Otto Wallin while Wilder returns to the ring against former WBO heavyweight champion Joseph Parker. Also in action are top-15 heavyweights including Filip Hrgovic, Daniel Dubois, Frank Sanchez, Agit Kabayel and Arslanbek Makhmudov. Throw in light-heavyweight king Dmitry Bivol and it’s easy to see why some are calling this the strongest bill in boxing history.
