Eddie Hearn says he’s talking to MULTIPLE top 10 P4P superstars after ‘Boots’ Ennis swoop

Eddie Hearn and Matchroom Boxing are flying right now on the back of that massive deal to sign welterweight sensation Jaron ‘Boots’ Ennis.

Hearn swooped to sign a multi-fight promotional deal with newly-crowned IBF world champion Ennis (31-0) on Wednesday, sending shockwaves through the sport.

But that deal could be the tip of the iceberg with the Essex magnate now claiming he is in talks with a string of other superstars as his stable goes from strength to strength.

Hearn was asked by Boxing News on YouTube (watch the full interview at the bottom of this page) if he’d be looking at other fighters – notably from PBC with Al Haymon’s operation yet to announce their full 2024 schedule. His response was tantalising.

Hearn on potential new signings

“Not just PBC fighters, but I would say we are talking to four or five fighters in the top 10 of the pound-for-pound list, or call it top 15 arguably, if you make your own list.

“There are a lot of fighters available, a lot of fighters looking to get active. We can’t take them all on, we just don’t have the dates – it’s impossible – and I don’t want to underdeliver for a fighter.

“But it’s a very exciting time and our stable’s looking incredibly strong.”

Things could not be going better for Hearn and Matchroom right now, with stable star Anthony Joshua right back at the top table of heavyweight boxing, and waiting for a world title shot AND that megafight vs Tyson Fury.

Hearn is also now enjoying a massively productive working relationship with long-time bitter promotional rival Frank Warren as they deliver huge fights in that lucrative Saudi Arabian market.

The next step in that direction will be that much-hyped 5 on 5 card vs Warren’s stable in Riyadh on June 1. A London press conference next week is expected to deliver all the key details on that.
