Eddie Hearn and his father Barry’s incredible sporting success has brought them incredible wealth, and now we have an idea of just how much.
Barry’s Matchroom empire, now headed up by his 44-year-old boxing promoter son Eddie, has blazed a trail in a number of sports, starting with snooker in the 1980s and now ruling the world in the likes of boxing and darts as well.

No business has done a better job of making sports which were once seen as small and niche into enormous successes on mainstream TV. They even managed to make fishing a thing on Sky Sports. Yes, fishing.
But just how much has all that brilliant promotional success brought them in terms of financial reward?
Eddie Hearn wealth
The pair sat down with Piers Morgan for his ‘Uncensored’ YouTube channel this week, for a wide-ranging interview which lasted just short of two hours. They covered a ton of topics, including a potential Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua superfight and that controversial ring return for Mike Tyson in July.
The conversation eventually got around to wealth, with Morgan quizzing the Hearns on their financial worth. And after a little pushing and prodding, he got an answer.
Barry confirmed that their Matchroom empire is now valued at more than £1billion – astonishing. And the way the shares in that business are allotted, it appears that Eddie is worth hundreds of millions of pounds.

Hearn Sr said: “I know he’s [Eddie] richer than me because we’ve done a family settlement where he’s the major shareholder in this business and my daughter is the second biggest shareholder, because I’m an irrelevance. My life is done. I won my game, and now it’s their game.”
When pushed on an actual figure, Barry revealed: “The business is worth over a billion.”
While the Hearns now have incredible wealth as reward for their hard work over the past half-century and more, they were keen to stress that they also understand the value of that money. And they do not squander it.
Eddie revealed that while he may own two Rolls Royce cars, at the same time he had to question recently whether he should pay 310 Euro for a VIP service from Dublin airport when travelling to a Katie Taylor fight. All about pricing, and value for money.
Hearn taking boxing to new heights
While Barry of course began the Hearn involvement in boxing in the 20th Century, it is Eddie who has taken it to new levels in the past decade.
He has become one of the greatest promotional showmen around, and his landmark $1billion DAZN US deal in 2018 broke new frontiers for the sport. He later left long-time UK dance partner Sky Sports to make the DAZN pact a global one.
The Hearn boxing empire in recent years has been built on the cornerstone of Anthony Joshua – the two-time world heavyweight champion who has become a megastar who transcends sport.
It is quite the Essex success story, and it shows no sign of slowing down.
