Fury: I can’t wait to smash Wilder’s face in…again

Tyson Fury says he can’t wait to “smash Deontay Wilder’s face in again” when the pair meet for a third time.

‘The Gypsy King’ was held to a controversial draw in their first fight in Los Angeles in December 2018 after being put down twice by the American – the second time prompting that astonishing recovery in the 12th and final round.

But Fury left no doubt in the eagerly-awaited rematch in Las Vegas in February, coming in heavier than for the first fight and absolutely destroying Wilder en route to a seventh-round TKO.

Despite that battering, former WBC heavyweight king Wilder immediately exercised his contractual right to another rematch and the fight is now likely to happen in the final quarter of the year after a July date was cancelled due to the global COVID-19 pandemic.

Fury is currently entertaining millions of fans with his regular workouts with wife Paris on Instagram, and during a session this week he told the masses: “I can’t wait to get back and smash Deontay Wilder’s face in again.”

Now those dark days are gone, but not forgotten, as Fury explained this week the importance of regular workouts during lockdown, and having his family around him.

He said: “Without these I’ll be in some trouble, I can tell you that. I’d be so depressed, so down and anxious. But these workouts keep me going, keep me motivated every day. I’m training four times a day at the moment.

“So it’s difficult. Circuits in the morning, followed by cardio, followed by weights, followed by cardio. Absolutely smashing it.”
