Filip Hrgovic vs Marko Radonjic kicks off what should be a spectacular Autumn for heavyweight boxing when the pair meet in Austria on September 10.
The summer promised us Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua and then Fury vs Deontay Wilder 3 – we are still waiting for both.
Hrgovic vs Radonjic TV and streaming
But Hrgovic and Radonjic should deliver a fascinating showdown when they lock horns in Klagenfurt on a show which will be streamed by DAZN in the UK and United States (RTL will have the call in Croatia).
The 29-year-old Croatian Hrgovic is one of the most promising big men around. Now 12-0 with 10 wins inside distance, he has not been seen out since stopping Rydell Booker in Florida last November.
The 31-year-old Radonjic meanwhile, known as ‘The Montenegro Hammer’, brings a perfect record to the table in the pro ranks – 22-0 with all 22 of those wins coming inside schedule. A look at his record though emphasises that Hrgovic represents a big step up on his previous level of opposition.
“This is going to be a great fight between two top Heavyweights,” said Hrgovic.
Respect for Radonjic
“I have a lot of respect for Radonjic for taking this fight when many wouldn’t. I’m excited to box at the Wörthersee Stadion. I expect a lot of Croatians to travel to support me and I look forward to fighting in front of the Austrian fans too. Radonjic has a good record, he has won all his fights by knockout, but he has never fight anyone like me. On September 10, he will feel my power and the ‘Montenegro Hammer’ will fall!”
Radonjic meanwhile said: “Filip Hrgovic is a great fighter and I’m really looking forward to fighting him. It will be an exciting fight between two big-punching heavyweights.
“I know Hrgovic is a good boxer but I’m confident I can beat him. I will take the IBF International Title home with me. The ‘Montenegro Hammer’ is coming to win!”
