One man who believes the 6ft 6ins Itauma will go all the way is his Hall of Fame promoter Frank Warren, who has already predicted he will be the ‘next big thing’ in the fight game’s marquee weight class.
Warren of course already handles the current WBC and lineal heavyweight king Tyson Fury, and many believe that in Itauma he has a ready-made successor when ‘The Gypsy King’ eventually decide to hang up his gloves.
Itauma turned over into the paid ranks at the start of 2023, and fought seven times before the year ended. He started 2024 with a bang too and now the world appears to be his oyster as Warren and Queensberry look to continue his education.
Moses Itauma fights
Itauma’s record as a professional is a perfect 10-0 – 10 fights with 10 victories . A total of 8 of those wins have come inside distance, and he’s gone the full distance twice. Here is a full rundown of his fights and results to date:
Itauma vs Mariusz Wach
Date: July 27, 2024
Venue: London, England
Result: Itauma won TKO R2
Itauma produced another stunning performance to blast out a man who had been the distance with the likes of Dillian Whyte, Hughie Fury and among others. The big Pole may have had a weight advantage of almost 50lbs over his youthful opponent, but he had zero answers to the devastating speed and power of Itauma once the bullets really started to fly in Round 2. A sustained assault by Moses ended with a left hand which deposited Wach on the seat of his pants. Though the Pole beat the count, he was clearly wounded and was then pinned on the ropes as Itauma let fly with a blistering assault. Referee Michael Alexander was left with no option but to call things off with 30 seconds of the second remaining as Wach was continually forced to take heavy punches.
Itauma vs Ilja Mezencev
Date: May 18, 2024
Venue: Riyadh, Saudi Arabia
Result: Itauma won TKO R2
Itauma did not fluff his lines on the big Fury vs Usyk undercard in Saudi Arabia as he blitzed German Mezencev inside two rounds. He announced his intentions early with two brutal lefts inside the first 30 seconds and then late in the session had his opponent on the ropes with a fantastic counter shot. Mezencev survived to the bell but it was only a stay of execution as he was sent to the canvas with a lovely right to the temple early in the second round. He beat the count but was on the wobbliest of legs and referee Howard Foster had no option but to wave it off. Itauma also claimed his first professional title with the win, the vacant Intercontinental heavyweight strap. It was also his first fight with new trainer Ben Davison heading up his corner.
Itauma vs Dan Garber
Date: March 22, 2024
Venue: London, England
Result: Itauma won TKO R1
Itauma made it eight wins from eight fights with an easy beatdown of Yorkshireman Garber on a TNT Sports show in London. He was quickly onto the offensive with that ramrod jab peppering Garber’s guard as he used it to tee up venomous left hands. By midway through the opening session he was showcasing his full repertoire of skills, mixing in classy combinations with a big right uppercut or two. By the final minute of the round it was pretty clear Garber was not making it to the bell, and he was saved from further punishment with 38 seconds remaining as Itauma rained down punch after punch.
Itauma vs Michael Boloz
Date: December 1, 2023
Venue: London, England
Result: Itauma won TKO R1
This one was slated for 6 rounds, but it was clear right from the first few seconds that Moses was in for a very short night against late replacement Boloz. He was quickly on the front foot and had his opponent on the deck with a beautiful left hand after just 35 seconds. Michael beat the count but he was clearly on the way out and soon after Itauma closed the show with another brutal combination which brought a second knockdown. No need for a count this time as it was quickly waved off.
Itauma vs Istvan Bernath
Date: October 28, 2023
Venue: Riyadh, Saudi Arabia
Result: Itauma won TKO R1
A big night for Itauma under the bright lights of ‘Riyadh Season’ as he featured on that massive Tyson Fury vs Francis Ngannou undercard in Saudi Arabia. He showed why he is tipped for a big future too by seeing off Bernath inside a round. The action lasted just 113 seconds as the youngster from Kent absolutely blasted out his opponent in terrifying fashion. It was another punch-perfect display from a fighter with very bad intentions.
Itauma vs Amine Boucetta
Date: September 23, 2023
Venue: London, England
Result: Itauma won TKO R1
After a pair of distance fights, Itauma returned to his liking for quick finishes as he absolutely battered Boucetta in devastating fashion. A beautiful left uppercut had Boucetta down and in serious trouble just over a minute into Round 1, and though he beat the count this would not go much longer. Itauma was in no mood to hang around and the towel came in as he unleashed a brutal flurry with the defenceless Boucetta shipping punches on the ropes.
Itauma vs Kevin Nicolas Espindola
Date: July 29, 2023
Venue: Telford, England
Result: Itauma won PTS (60-54)
Itauma was never under any threat of losing this one, but he did have to go the distance against the tough Argentine Espindola in Telford. Moses prevailed 60-54 on the referee’s scorecard but he was unable to really produce the devastating fireworks which had seen him start his pro career with a string of first-round knockouts. All useful experience though for a young man with a massive future in the heavyweight division.
Itauma vs Kostiantyn Dovbyshchenko
Date: April 15, 2023
Venue: London, England
Result: Itauma won PTS
Dovbyshchenko had already taken Zhan Kossobutskiy the distance, so nobody was massively surprised when Itauma was unable to carry on that devastating knockout streak. The tough Ukrainian withstood everything Moses could throw at him in a fight which always looked destined to go the distance. Itauma was never in any danger though, and he gained another win and some much-needed rounds and experience in the process.
Itauma vs Ramon Ibarra
Date: March 25, 2023
Venue: Telford, England
Result: Itauma won KO R1
Another very early night for the prodigious Itauma as he destroyed Ibarra in well under a minute. He had a huge size advantage over the short, stocky Ibarra – but the gulf in class was way bigger. It was a left followed by a massive right in quick succession which put the Argentine man on the deck and he was never beating the count as Moses registered his second professional victory.
Itauma vs Marcel Bode
Date: January 28. 2023
Venue: London, England
Result: Itauma won TKO R1
Some professional debut from the highly-vaunted Itauma as he took less than 15 seconds to deposit his Czech opponent Bode on the canvas. It was a pair of massive left hands, one after the other, which caused the carnage – the first wobbling Bode and the second flattening him. He did get to his feet but was in no state to continue and the Moses Itauma story had its first chapter in the books.
