Fury vs Joshua Fight News

Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua are massive news and make headlines every single day of the year, particularly in the UK.

They had been all set to meet in the biggest fight in British boxing history on August 14, 2021.

The pair had signed a two-fight deal and Saudi Arabia had agreed to put up a record $155million (£109million) site fee. And then the world caved in…

Fury and Joshua next fights

Just 24 hours after a gleeful Fury had announced that August 14 date to face Joshua in Saudi, everything fell apart – and fast.

Deontay Wilder won an arbitration ruling over his collapsed trilogy fight with Fury last year. The ruling stated Fury must fight him before September.

The end result – no Fury vs Joshua for a while at least – mainly because Joshua subsequently lost his world titles to Ukrainian star Oleksandr Usyk via a unanimous decision at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on September 25, 2021.

Fury (30-0-1) will now meet Wilder (42-1-1) for a third time in Las Vegas on Saturday October 9.

Fury vs Joshua TV details

The battle to show the fight on TV and live stream would be a fascinating one. Sky Sports Box Office (currently shows Joshua fights in the UK) and BT Sport Box Office (airs Fury fights in the UK).

Joshua’s Sky deal though ended with the Usyk loss so he is now a free agent and we expect a massive scramble for his services.

ESPN has an exclusive deal with Fury in the U.S. and would likely have the rights Stateside.

Streaming platform DAZN meanwhile is also expected to be a major player.

The interesting wrinkle here is that Joshua’s current UK broadcast deal with Sky has only one fight left – and that now won’t be against Fury.

Expect a massive bidding war for his signature with at least one Fury fight likely to be part of his next pact.

Fury vs Joshua odds

Fury is the current betting favourite at around 4/7 with Joshua around a 11/8 chance. But boxing odds have been overturned before…

The next few months promise to be absolutely fascinating as the picture becomes clearer and obstacles are removed to what would be a massive confrontation between two British heavyweight world champions.
