They are calling it ‘Hate Runs Deep’, and the build-up to Josh Taylor vs Jack Catterall 2 could be every bit as spicy as fight night itself.
Two years ago Taylor claimed a massively controversial split decision against Catterall in their first meeting – with all of the ‘Tartan Tornado’s’ world super-lightweight titles on the line.
The acrimony both before and after that tumultuous night in Glasgow was huge, and the bad blood is most definitely still there. Now, at last, Catterall gets his chance to settle the score.
Their rematch is officially confirmed for the First Direct Arena in Leeds, England on Saturday April 27, 2024 (live on DAZN in the UK and globally, and ESPN+ in the United States).
Before fight week though we get the preliminaries as the media tour gets under this week with a pair of press conferences. Today in Edinburgh the fighters come face to face for the first time – and we should get some fireworks. Then, on Tuesday, they move down to Manchester to do it all again.
