Turki Alalshikh adds yet more star power to boxing with MASSIVE Ring 3 card in NYC

Turki Alalshikh does not do things by half measures, and the (relatively) new owner of Ring magazine is clearly going all in on returning the boxing bible to former glories.

His Excellency, Chairman of Saudi Arabia’s General Entertainment Authority, has breathed new life into the sport of boxing in the last 18 months with huge investment to make big fights happen regularly. And now he’s looking to do a similar thing with its most storied publication.

Alalshikh’s latest strategy is having Ring front big fight cards, and the next one of those will take place in New York City on Saturday July 12, 2025 (exclusively live on DAZN worldwide). And it is shaping up to be a beauty.

Massive fights added to card

In news first revealed by The Ring on Sunday evening, the ‘Ring 3’ show will be headed by exciting British talent Hamzah Sheeraz (21-0-1) meeting Edgar Berlanga (23-1) in a WBC super-middleweight title eliminator. But that is just the tip of a very big boxing iceberg.

Also appearing will be Shakur Stevenson as he defends his WBC lightweight strap vs William Zepeda. Meanwhile Alberto Puello defends his WBC super lightweight strap against the dangerous Subriel Matias, while David Morrell takes on the as yet undefeated Imam Khataev.

Berlanga and Sheeraz seek redemption

Both Berlanga and Sheeraz are somewhat in redemption mode – Berlanga suffered his first pro defeat in a decision loss to PPV cash cow Canelo Alvarez last September. Sheeraz meanwhile is coming off a disputed draw against Carlos Adames for the WBC middleweight title in February.
