Boxing News Today: Mike Tyson DESTROYS Jake Paul, Joshua Suspension and Fury’s BIG ‘Sugar Hill’ decision

Mike Tyson vs Jake Paul will be one of THE events of 2024 – and did we just get a sneak peek at what might happen on fight night?

Two-time heavyweight king Tyson, now aged 58, will fight the YouTuber turned fighter Paul – who is just 27 years old – at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas on Friday November 15 (streaming live globally on Netflix).

But while ‘Iron Mike’ may be giving up 31 years to his opponent, he may well still have a puncher’s chance in a bout which has been sanctioned as a professional contest – NOT an exhibition.

We have already seen Tyson KO Paul once – thanks to a simulation of the big fight via the next boxing video game Undisputed – which is officially released next Friday (October 11).

The bout lasted precisely 75 seconds – a brutal beatdown reminiscent of Tyson in his 1980s pomp. Check out the full story, and the actual footage of how things played out.

When can suspended Anthony Joshua fight again?

Yes, you read that right, Anthony Joshua is suspended from boxing.

The British megastar was a hot favourite to become a three-time heavyweight champion when he locked horns with fellow Brit Daniel Dubois at Wembley last month.

Instead AJ was battered to a brutal and one-sided defeat inside five rounds in front of a record 96,000 crowd. It was a devastating loss for the two-time heavyweight king, by far the worst of his career.

Joshua has since been suspended from boxing as a result of that defeat, and now we can tell you why, and crucially when he will be able to return.

Tyson Fury announces MAJOR ‘Sugar Hill’ decision

Tyson Fury is preparing for his December 21 rematch vs Oleksandr Usyk, and he has announced once major decision ahead of that blockbuster.

Fury of course appeared to be winning their first fight comfortably – some might say brilliantly – until Usyk battered him all round the Riyadh ring during that incredible ninth round back in May. Usyk would eventually prevail by split decision to become undisputed heavyweight champion.

There was much focus placed on the Fury corner in the aftermath of that bout, and speculation about whether Fury would change things up.

Now ‘The Gypsy King’ has announced what will happen in December, and that of course tells us what it means for head trainer Javan ‘Sugar Hill’ Steward.
