Moses Itauma vs Mike Balogun is the latest chapter in the education of boxing’s most exciting young heavyweight fighter.
Itauma (11-0 with 9 wins inside distance) is seen by many – including Hall of Fame promoter Frank Warren – as the future of the sport’s marquee weight division despite only just having turned 20 years of age. He is that good and possesses that much potential.

The two fighters will weigh in on Friday May 23 in Glasgow.
Moses Itauma record
Itauma, who only turned 20 at the end of 2024, has an 11-0 pro record with 9 of those victories coming by way of knockout. In fact all 9 of those KOs came inside the first two rounds.
The man from Chatham, Kent possesses terrific ring IQ and devastating speed and power to go along with this size. His last outing might have been his best – a sensational one-round obliteration of the tough and durable Aussie Demsey McKean last December on the Oleksandr Usyk vs Tyson Fury 2 undercard.
Mike Balogun record
Balogun – a former NFL star with the San Francisco 49ers and Dallas Cowboys among others – has a 21-1 pro boxing record since moving into the fight game in 2014. That appears nice on the surface, but look a little deeper and it’s not quite as impressive.
There are zero big names on Balogun’s resume – apart from one in the shape of former Russian cruiserweight star Murat Gassiev. He represents Balogun’s only real foray into elite levels back in 2023. It lasted less than two rounds as Mike lost his ‘0’ in devastating fashion.
