Tyson Fury drops MASSIVE comeback hint in 11-second video with trainer Sugar Hill Steward

Tyson Fury has retired and unretired before – more than once – and it appears to be happening again, fight fans.

‘The Gypsy King’ hung up his gloves once again in January following the second of back-to-back losses to Oleksandr Usyk in their December 2024 rematch in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

The 36-year-old two-time world heavyweight champion (now 34-2-1) has since been happily enjoying the fruits of his boxing labours with his wife Paris and their seven children at home in Lancashire, England.

But now it appears things have changed, and in a big way, after Fury released an 11-second video with none other than his trainer ‘SugarHill’ Steward.

Tyson Fury’s video message

Fury on Monday posted an 11-second video to social media of him at the gym with trainer SugarHill Steward.

Fury looked into the camera and began: “Just in the gym. Happened to bump into somebody you might know,” before the camera panned to Sugar Hill, who became his trainer ahead of his second fight against Deontay Wilder in Las Vegas in 2020.

Steward laughed as Fury went on, “We’re back.” Steward then added, “You know what time it is”.

Then Fury once again looked into the camera, pointed at it and said, “You know what’s coming”.

While we’ve seen Fury doing gym work in recent weeks, that is nothing remarkable. The big man (6ft 9ins and almost 300lbs) likes to keep in trim for his physical and mental wellbeing. But this appeared different, a clear sign that his latest retirement is about to end.

Who would Fury fight?

Of course should Fury come out of that latest retirement there is one fight which screams out more than ever before – that long-awaited all-British blockbuster vs Anthony Joshua.

We’ve waited years for that one – the pair even signed to fight in 2021 before a certain Deontay Wilder won an arbitration victory to force a trilogy match with Fury. Joshua then lost his world titles to Usyk, and the fight we all wanted never happened.

Now neither Fury nor Joshua holds a title, and for the next few months their routes to a title appear blocked. That is because current belt holders Usyk and Dubois confirmed on Sunday that they will meet at Wembley Stadium on July 19 in a massive unification fight.

When would Fury vs Joshua happen?

Joshua (28-4) is currently rehabbing an injury to the upper half of his body and almost ready to return to training per promoter Eddie Hearn. He believes AJ could fight again in late August or September.

So a Fury vs Joshua showdown – the biggest fight now out there for either man – appears absolutely a possibility before the end of 2025. It is unlikely either man would take a tune-up to risk this massive payday, both would be expected to earn north of £100m for their night’s work.
