The Oleksandr Usyk vs Tyson Fury 2 rematch should boxing with another true superfight as these two behemoths of the sport face off once more with the world heavyweight title on the line.
Back on May 18 the pair fought an epic showdown for all of the marbles in the fight game’s marquee weight class – every single belt was on the line. And at the end of it Usyk prevailed by the thinnest of margins to become the sport’s first undisputed heavyweight king since Lennox Lewis in 1999.

The bout had a rematch clause – as is the case for most big bouts these days – and both men signalled they wanted to go once again. So here we are, looking ahead to a December 21 showdown. Again in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

PPV pricing has yet to be announced. But for the first fight the price point was around the £25 mark in the UK and around $70 in the US.
What’s at stake?
So unlike the first bout this is not a world heavyweight title unification showdown – Usyk was forced to vacate the IBF strap after their first meeting. That is now held by Britain’s Daniel Dubois and he will defend it for the first time vs Anthony Joshua at Wembley on September 21.
So Usyk vs Fury 2 will be for literally everything else – Usyk holds the WBA, WBC, WBO and Ring magazine belts as well as being the sport’s lineal heavyweight champion (the man who beat the man).
