Albanian heavyweight giant Nelson Hysa improved to 23-0 with another quickfire demolition job in Ipswich on Saturday night.
The 40-year-old behemoth met Patrick Korte on the undercard of the huge Fabio Wardley vs Justis Huni show at Portman Road football stadium. And he made short work of his overmatched German opponent.
He retained his WBO European heavyweight title by blasting out Korte (now 22-5-1) inside two rounds with a display of powerful punching allied to surprising speed.
Hysa now has 21 knockouts in his 23 wins, and ‘The Albanian Eagle’ is clearly making up for lost time at the age of 40 as he bids to move up in level.
A fight against the likes of Moses Itauma has been mooted recently, and now we wait to see who he will step up against. Hysa even called on a fight with Itauma (who was watching from ringside) during his post-fight DAZN interview in the ring.
Hysa vs Korte report
Hysa was in charge from the start against Korte, with not only a big size advantage but also in terms of foot and hand speed.
He had Korte in trouble in Round 1 with a glancing blow which stiffened the legs of the German and forced him to take a knee and a count after a delayed reaction.
Patrick did make it to the bell to end Round 1, but few would have been putting money on him surviving a second session, and so it proved.

Hysa once again used a sharp jab to set up that big overhand right, which had Korte in big trouble almost every time he threw it.
Nelson closed the show midway through the second round when another right hand followed by a flurry of further punches sent Korte to the canvas again. He was up at 9 but clearly in no state to continue, and the bout was called off.
