Pacquiao vs Barrios date, start time, schedule, TV channel and live stream

Manny Pacquiao vs Mario Barrios is official and it confirms the return to boxing of a ring legend at the ripe old age of 46 years old.

Pacquiao is one of the greatest fighters ever to lace them up and he remains the only man to win a world title in eight different weight divisions. Simply incredible stuff.

But after a four-year absence he will start as a firm underdog against Barios (some 16 years his junior) when he challenges for the WBC world welterweight title in Las Vegas. Here is all you need to know about the big showdown on the Las Vegas Strip.

When is Pacquiao vs Barrios?

The fight takes place on Saturday July 19 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. An arena that has been the happiest of hunting grounds for ‘Pacman’ in his Hall of Fame career.

Ring walks for Pacquiao vs Barrios are expected to take place at 8pm local Pacific time, which is 11pm on the East Coast. If you’re watching the action from the UK, the main event is set for 4am on Sunday July 20.

How to watch live

Pretty simple stuff here when it comes to live stream and TV channels. The show is part of that deal between Al Haymon’s Premier Boxing Champions (PBC) and Amazon Prime Video. It will be a PPV show (pricing still to be confirmed) but it will be available to both Prime Video subscribers and non-subscribers.

Weights

The weigh-in for Pacquiao vs Barrios will take place on Friday July 18 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena and it will likely be open to the public. The fight of course will take place at the 147lbs welterweight limit.

Latest Odds

In his pomp Pacquiao would have been a heavy favourite to see off Barrios, but not any more. The Filipino megastar is the 5/2 underdog with Mario a 3/10 favourite.

Manny Pacquiao record

Pacquiao has an incredible 62-8-2 record, including some of the biggest scalps in the sport. Erik Morales, Marco Antonio Barrera, Ricky Hatton, Miguel Cotto, Antonio Margarito and Juan Manuel Marquez are just a few of the elite talents he has destroyed during his Hall of Fame career.

He has not fought for four years since that unanimous defeat by Yordenis Ugas in their world title showdown in Las Vegas, and the big question is just how much he now has left.

Mario Barrios record

The 30-year-old Barrios, the current WBC world welterweight champion, has a 29-2-1 pro record with 18 of those wins coming inside distance. He claimed the title with a split decision win over Abel Ramos in Arlington, Texas last November. That bout went down on the undercard of that Mike Tyson vs Jake Paul freak show.

Pacquiao vs Barrios undercard

This is a terrific card with PBC throwing everything they have at this Amazon Prime Video PPV show.

The co-main event sees WBC Super Welterweight World Champion Sebastian “The Towering Inferno” Fundora defend his title in a rematch against Australian superstar Tim Tszyu. The pair fought a literal bloodbath in their first meeting in March 2024 – a split decision win for Fundora.

Mexican star Isaac “Pitbull” Cruz and his hard-hitting countryman Angel Fierro will meet for a second time after their action packed February clash, while former two-division world champion Brandon “The Heartbreaker” Figueroa and top contender Joet Gonzalez will kick off the pay-per-view portion of the show at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT (1am Sunday July 20 in the UK).
