Oleksandr Usyk and Daniel Dubois could meet again in their next fight, for boxing’s undisputed heavyweight championship of the world.
Usyk (23-0) and Dubois (22-2) currently hold all of the world heavyweight titles. Usyk is the WBC, WBA, WBO, Ring magazine and lineal champion after back-to-back wins over Tyson Fury in 2024. Dubois is the IBF belt holder after that brilliant beatdown of Anthony Joshua at Wembley last September.

Dubois had been scheduled to defend against Kiwi Joseph Parker in Saudi Arabia in September, but was forced to withdraw late due to illness.
Now it appears that instead of fighting other opponents, the two champions will meet each other to give boxing it’s second undisputed heavyweight champion in just over year. Remember Usyk briefly held all of the marbles after his first defeat of Fury in May 2024.

Date and venue
The date being pencilled in for the massive showdown is Saturday July 12, and the venue is London’s iconic Wembley Stadium. This is per Mike Coppinger of Ring magazine.
Wembley of course was the venue for that Dubois vs Joshua blockbuster last September, drawing almost 100,000 fans to the incredible venue in north London. That was a career night for ‘Dynamite’ as he blasted AJ to defeat inside five rounds, putting him on the canvas in four of them.
Usyk and Dubois have met once before, and there remains controversy from that meeting in Wroclaw, Poland back in August 2023. Primarily because Daniel had Usyk in massive trouble from a body shot in Round 5 which had the Ukrainian crumpled in a heap on the floor. But instead of being deemed a legal punch (as Dubois and his team claimed) it was ruled a low blow and Usyk was given time to recover.

Oleksandr, as is so often the case, would recover strongly from that dangerous moment to stop Dubois in Round 9, to retain his titles and set up that unification showdown with Fury.
Now the future of the heavyweight division is likely to go through Wembley Stadium once again as the venue’s rich boxing history gets another special chapter. And once again, expect in excess of 90,000 fans to pack the famous venue for a spectacular show.
