Wardley vs Huni weights as Aussie star scales career high for heavyweight blockbuster

We have ourselves a massive heavyweight showdown in Ipswich on Saturday after the weigh-in took place for Fabio Wardley vs Justis Huni.

The two fighters got onto the scales in the town’s city centre on Friday, just over 24 hours before they will do battle for the WBA interim heavyweight title. The winner becoming mandatory challenger for the belt currently held by the great Oleksandr Usyk.

Wardley (18-0-1) came in at 243lbs (17st 5lbs) – just a couple of pounds heavier than he had been for his last fight, that devastating one-round knockout of Frazer Clarke in Riyadh last October.

Huni (12-0) meanwhile scaled a career high 248lbs – seven pounds higher than for his last outing, a second-round stoppage of Shaun Potgieter in January.

Ring walks for the main event are expected to start around 10pm local time on Saturday (June 7), which is 11pm CET. If you are watching in the US the start time is 5pm Eastern, or 2pm Pacific on the West Coast.
