Eddie Hearn and Anthony Joshua have conquered the boxing world twice, and now they are set to take their talents to football.
Joshua has become world heavyweight champion twice since linking up with promoter Hearn more than a decade ago, on the back of his London 2012 Olympic Games gold medal.
Since then the 35-year-old Watford superstar (now 28-4) has become probably the most marketable asset British boxing has seen – selling out arenas around the world.

Now the dream team are set to take on a new challenge, in the biggest sport of all – football. The pair are set to launch their own agency – as one Fabrizio Romano might say, ‘here we go’.

Hearn and Joshua – football agents
Hearn told iFL TV: “We are very likely will be launching a big football agency soon. And, to be honest, we were gonna do it about four or five years ago. And obviously, he was very busy with his boxing career, and just, I think in the downtime that he’s had, we’ve just been looking at a lot of projects together.”
The Matchroom Boxing supremo says this plan has long been cooking, but until now Joshua’s boxing career meant he was too busy to get it kicked off (pun intended). Recently the fighter has been rehabbing an elbow injury, and the extra spare time allowed them to move the huge project forward.
“Maybe a month or so ago, we just kind of sat down with Frank Smith and some other people as well from the agency world,” added Hearn.
“And said, we feel like collectively, we could form a very powerful football agency business. With my knowledge, Matchroom’s ability to represent athletes and guide their careers, with Anthony’s massive book of contacts globally and, and, and profile to open doors, and with people who already represent a lot of players.”
Joshua is expected to return to the ring later this year or early next year. Right now the two most likely opponents are great British rival Tyson Fury or US Youtuber turned fighter Jake Paul.
Fury recently announced he is coming out of retirement – making that long-awaited British blockbuster a possibility once again. Hearn confirmed meanwhile that talks have been held about a Paul fight, claiming the bout WILL happen if Jake really wants it.
