Daniel Dubois issues brutal warning as he reveals next fight shortlist

Daniel Dubois has revealed a three-man shortlist as the IBF world heavyweight champion targets his eagerly-awaited next fight.

The 27-year-old ‘Dynamite’ from Greenwich is riding the crest of a wave after completing an incredible run of victories by smashing up Anthony Joshua at Wembley to successfully retain his world title belt.

He had two-time world heavyweight champion AJ (now 28-4) on the floor in four of the five rounds en route to a devastating victory which left question marks about Joshua’s future at the highest level.

Who is next for Dubois?

It’s all a far cry from a couple of years ago, when Daniel was having his heart questioned by some pundits after agonising defeats by Joe Joyce and Oleksandr Usyk.

Now the big-punching Dubois (22-2 with 21 of those victories coming inside distance) is ready to take another step towards greatness after being forced to withdraw late from his planned title defence vs Joseph Parker in February.

Daniel has three names on his list for potential opponents, and he revealed them to talkSPORT as he attended Saturday night’s big Filip Hrgovic vs Joe Joyce showdown in Manchester.

“Well, those are the names I want. Usyk, Parker or AJ. One of the big three. That’s what I’m after right now…I heard a lot of people saying that after the Parker thing, that I’m ducking people.

“But right now I just want to deck someone…Line them up for me. I want them.

“Stay tuned, guys. I’m coming back soon. I can’t wait to get back in there – firing on all cylinders…back with a vengeance. I can’t wait.”

Dubois vs Uysk for undisputed?

Dubois would likely be favoured to win a rematch with Joshua or defeat Parker (36-3), but a showdown with the brilliant Usyk (23-0) would be a different matter. It would also be for the undisputed heavyweight championship of the world. Dubois currently holds the IBF belt while Usyk is the WBC, WBA, WBO, Ring magazine and lineal champion.
