Heavyweight Rankings: Moses Itauma cracks the elite in boxing bible Ring magazine

British heavyweight boxing sensation Moses Itauma is going places in 2025, and absolutely everybody is sitting up to take notice.

The 20-year-old phenom from Chatham in Kent is seen by most experts as the future of the sport’s marquee weight division, and he is currently backing up the hype in a big way.

Itauma has blasted his way to a 13-0 pro record, with 11 of those victories coming inside two rounds. His most recent win might have been the most impressive of all – a one-round demolition job on former world title challenger Dillian Whyte last month.

Now the calls are for Itauma to be fast-tracked to world title level having proved emphatically against Whyte that he can hack it at elite level.

Saudi power broker Turki Alalshikh would love to see Moses take on the very best heavyweight of all – undisputed world champion Oleksandr Usyk. That is how highly he is rated, and just how exciting he is to watch.

It’s not just fight fans who are raving about Itauma either – it is the ranking bodies as well. Itauma is already ranked number 1 by the World Boxing Organization (WBO) with only mandatory contender Joseph Parker standing between him and the champion Usyk.

Now Moses has received another major plaudit – he has cracked the hallowed confines of the heavyweight rankings at boxing bible Ring magazine. Itauma makes his first appearance in the rankings on the back of that win over Whyte, entering the list at number 10.

Usyk of course is the champion, with the comebacking Tyson Fury in at number 1. Anthony Joshua is down to 5 after his devastating loss to Daniel Dubois last year, and ahead of a likely return in early 2026.
