The huge sellout crowd for Anthony Joshua vs Daniel Dubois is about to get even bigger with EXTRA tickets set to go on sale today (Friday August 30).
General tickets for the IBF world heavyweight title showdown on Saturday September 21 have already sold out as the two British superstars prepare to do battle for the biggest prize in boxing.
Joshua (28-3) is right back at the peak of his powers under the stewardship of new trainer Ben Davison, while Dubois (21-2) is also realising the exciting potential he always showed – most notably in that brilliant demolition of Filip Hrgovic last time out in June.
AJ has always been the biggest draw in the sport when it comes to packing outdoor arenas, having fought multiple times at Wembley Stadium in the past. Notably that epic comeback to stop the gallant Wladimir Klitschko in their incredible 2017 slugfest.
Now he is back ‘home’ as it were to take on his fellow Brit in a bid to become a three-time world heavyweight champion – joining the likes of Muhammad Ali among the sport’s all-time greats.
Extra tickets to go on sale
The news of extra tickets going on sale is a big boost for fans hoping to be on hand for the biggest fight of the year to date in the UK, and those tickets will be available from noon UK today (Friday August 30). That is 1pm CET or 7am Eastern Time in the United States. The outlet to head for is Ticketmaster.
More than 94,000 fans packed Wembley when Tyson Fury defended his WBC heavyweight title by knocking out Dillian Whyte in 2022, and it looks like we will get a similar type of crowd for Joshua vs Dubois with promoter Frank Warren predicting a ‘historic night’ in the UK capital.
For both men of course there is much at stake with the winner potentially in line to face the winner of that Oleksandr Usyk vs Fury 2 rematch. That one is set for December 21 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
