Boxing’s heavyweight division is in the rudest of health as we move deeper in 2025, and we have a definitive take on the current landscape in the fight game’s marquee weight class.
They call the title of world heavyweight champion the biggest prize in all of sports, and with fighters sometimes earning upwards of £50million for one fight, it certainly still delivers.

The title has been diluted somewhat in recent years by the fact there are about seven titles actually up for grabs in the heavyweight division alone, but we have you covered with the latest state of play. Here are the rankings from every key body on July 29, 2025.
Heavyweight Rankings – May 2025

Who is the lineal champion?
The lineal world heavyweight champion is ‘the man who beat the man’. It is currently Oleksandr Usyk – he won the mythical title by beating Fury in their first fight in May 2024, and retained it in the rematch and again vs Dubois in July 2025.
Undisputed heavyweight champion
The great news is we DO have an undisputed heavyweight champion once again – and his name is Oleksandr Usyk. The Ukrainian claimed all of the marbles for the second time in 14 months with that brilliant victory over Dubois at Wembley.
Before Usyk became undisputed by beating Fury in May 2024, boxing had waiting 25 years for an undisputed heavyweight king – all the way back to the great Lennox Lewis in November 1999.
